What is the Heritage Service?

Our United Methodist heritage is richly grounded in meaningful liturgical worship that has been fleshed out by the experience and traditions of congregations for two thousand years.  Our Heritage Service at Southern Hills is grounded in the richness of that tradition as it developed, changed, and grew on the American Frontier. It is a service that is reminiscent of what your heart remembers that church should feel like.

With less scripture and  liturgy than The Traditional Service, more teaching, a children’s moment, and a full choir; when you leave after a Heritage service at Southern Hills UMC, you will  leave feeling like you have been to church.

While we always encourage our worshipers to wear whatever they’re most comfortable worshiping God in, you will find that the clergy will very often vest (wear robes) for this service.
