Children’s Ministry

There is nothing more frustrating than feeling like no one wants your children in church. At Southern Hills, we don’t believe that your children should be seen, but not heard…we want your children to be seen, heard, loved, and included in everything that we do. That’s why we’ve created the kind of children’s ministry that our own kids would want to be part of…after all, if our own kids don’t get anything out of what we do, why would we expect anyone else’s kids to?

Sunday School

There are three different options for Sunday School classes, and all of them meet in the children and youth safe space at the northeast end of the church at 9:30 on Sunday morning. The rooms are clearly marked, and there will be a volunteer present to check your children in to the ministry area when you drop them off.

K.I.D.S. Church

KIDS Church is a unique  worship experience for children in pre-k through 5th grades, offered every Sunday morning during both services. After the children’s message, our friendly staff will escort your kids to the children’s ministry area where they can participate in an interactive lesson that coincides with what is being taught in the main service.

Every Wednesday afternoon, our children’s ministry runs a program called S.H.O.W. (Southern Hills Outstanding Wednesdays).

S.H.O.W. is an exciting Wednesday afternoon/evening, arts-integrated program for children and youth (preschool through sixth grade) each week. Come at 4:00 p.m. and have a snack, participate in worship, select two arts activities, have dinner, and enjoy learning about Jesus and His Love.

Your children will have the opportunity to choose between many different arts programs, offered in two separate rotations throughout the afternoon. Each week at S.H.O.W. we offer things like: arts (paint, sculpt, collages), crafts, group piano, drums, photography, puppetry, drama, technologies and production, storytelling, creative movement, introduction to music, scrapbooking, liturgical dance, crafts, or chimes)…just to name a few.

If you are a parent, join us for a free dinner (open to everyone) at 5:20 in the CLC.

You can find out more about what’s happening right now by visiting our children’s ministry facebook page.
